Take the academics out of nursing, and put in the people who really count, not people who can prove on paper they can count and read. People who are passiontate about nursing and train them up the old fashioned way. Put Matron back on the ward to tidy up the nurses. Never mind the degrees, nurses are turning into pen pushers and the so called 'Health assistants' are doing the nursing. The pen pushers do not relate (most of the time) to the ass wipers. These are the people who make brill nurses and Matron would see to that, if we need pen pusher employ ward clerks.
